Breaking down a complex crisis into an accessible format.

Breaking down a complex crisis into an intuitively navigable representation of personal impact allows us to easily compare and understand the lifestyle sectors in which we can make changes.

Although there are many important facets to the climate crisis, two questions that most individuals ask themselves is “What is my impact?” and “What can I do?”.

Those who want to investigate these by reading the latest climate reports are usually soon faced with raw data and big numbers. To the average non-scientist, this can be an overwhelming barrier to understanding the topic and taking responsible action.

In response to this communication issue, I visualised the data of an average UK individual’s annual contribution to carbon emissions. Breaking down a complex crisis into a more accessible reflection of personal impact allows the majority to compare and understand the lifestyle sectors in which they can make changes.
